Type:— CHINA. Yunnan, Dêqên, Tswalungla , 2600m, thickets, September 1937, T. T. Yü 10286 (holotype PE; isotype KUN) .
Pseudocodon vinciflorus subsp. dianchuanicus differs from the typical subspecies mainly in having larger calyx lobes, 8–16 mm long, 3–6 mm wide, and also larger leaf blades, 3–9.5 cm long, 0.7–3.3 cm wide. The new subspecies is geographically isolated from the type subspecies.
Distribution:—NW Yunnan (Dêqên), SW Sichuan (Daocheng, Muli, and Xiangcheng).
