Type-locality: Panama, Mojinga Swamp.
Geographical distribution: Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil (Roraima, Amazonas, Acre, Rondônia, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso).
Additional note: The male and female Psathyromyia runoides were redescribed by Costa et al. (2021) from the paratypes deposited at the MZUSP.
