Promalactis ingenticula Kim , sp. nov.
Diagnosis
This species is externally similar to P. roeseri Lvovsky, 2000a and P. hamatella sp. nov. in the wing pattern, but it can be easily distinguished by the fore wing having costal patch at two-thirds, not connected to the postmedial band. The species is also distinguished by the broader postmedial band and the obviously developed large apical patch, nearly occupied all apical zone. The male genitalia are also close to P. hamatella sp. nov., but can be characterized by the valva with round apical margin and the juxta large bearing two lobes.
Description
Adult ( Figures 2e View Figure 2 , 3e View Figure 3 ). Head: Frons white. Vertex white tinged with pale greyish yellow with yellowish brown occiput. Antenna with scape white entirely, as long as diameter of eye; flagellum white and dark brown alternately dorsally. Labial palpus with second segment yellowish brown, darker to apex; third segment white from the base to one-quarter and dark brown from one-quarter to apex, whitish scales scattered entirely; third segment as long as second segment. Thorax: Thorax dark brown. Tegula yellowish brown. Wingspan 11.0– 11.5 mm.
Fore wing ground colour yellowish brown; three bands edged with fuscous scales: subbasal band far from base of wing, slightly zigzagged, oblique toward wing base; antemedial band oblique, nearly parallel sided, from one-quarter of costa to one-third of posterior margin; postmedial band broad at three-fifths of posterior margin, not reaching to costal patch; costal patch somewhat quadrate, reaching halfway across wing; apical patch broadly developed, occupying all apical zone, proceeded by fuscous scales; fringes greyish brown. Hind wing ground colour pale greyish brown; fringes greyish brown.
Male genitalia ( Figure 4e, 4 ea,b). Uncus wide at base, gradually narrowed apically, setose laterally. Gnathos triangular, slightly longer than uncus, bearing more pointed apex than that of uncus. Tegumen large triangular, 1.5 times longer than gnathos in longitudinal length. Valva simple, bearing round apex, slightly longer than uncus plus tegumen; costal margin slightly convex medially, setose from two-thirds to apex; saccular margin setose from two-thirds to apex; juxta largely developed bearing asymmetrical length of lobes, right lobe longer than left lobe. Saccus large, wider than gnathos in horizontal width. Aedeagus long and slender. Cornutus one-quarter length of aedeagus.
Female unknown.
Holotype
