TYPE MATERIAL. — Holotype (dd) MNHN 0210 About MNHN .

NEW MATERIAL EXAMINED (all MNHN). — Coral Sea. EBISCO: stn DW2606, Chesterfield Reefs, 19°36’S, 158°42’E, 442-443 m, 2 dd. — Stn DW2607, 19°33’S, 158°40’E, 400-413 m, 1 lv & 3 dd. — Stn DW2609, 19°33’S, 158°40’E, 431-436 m, 1 dd. — Stn DW2612, 19°35’S, 158°41’E, 392 m, 1 lv, 1 dd ( Fig. 2H, I).

TYPE LOCALITY. — Coral Sea, Chesterfields Reefs, 355 m, 19°54’S, 158°38’E [MUSORSTOM 5: stn DC378].

DISTRIBUTION. — Coral Sea, Chesterfield Reefs, living in 392-410 m, empty shells in 355- 431 m.

REMARKS

These are the first records of Ponderia magna since its description. The coordinates and depth are quite similar to those of the original material which was also collected in the Coral Sea, Chesterfield Reefs, during the MUSORSTOM 5 cruise.
