DIAGNOSIS

The closest species are P. robusta and P. sumatrana Schmidt, 1910 from Sumatra, and P. javanensis from Java. However, P. rufifrons can be separated from all these species by its bright red head and pro- and mesonotum (never red in the other species).

SUPPLEMENTARY DESCRIPTION

Male terminalia ( Fig. 10 View Fig )

Pygofer (Py – Fig. 10 View Fig A-B) strongly higher than long (without lateral lobe), with posterior margin showing a broad, moderately elongate, laminate lateral lobe (llp) in dorsal half, moderately incurved and directed posteromesad, posterior margin of process rounded; anterior margin of pygofer concave in lateral view ( Fig. 10A View Fig ). Anal tube (An – Fig. 10 View Fig A-C) in dorsal view elongate, 1.59 times as long in midline as broad (at widest point), narrower basally and widest at about ¾ of length, with lateral margins quite evenly sinuate ( Fig. 10 B View Fig ); in lateral view, curved posteroventrally ( Fig. 10A View Fig ); apical margin rounded in posterodorsal view ( Fig. 10 C View Fig ). Gonostyli in lateral view ( Fig. 10A View Fig ) elongate, about 1.77 times as long as high with posterior and prothorax, lateral view.

half distinctly broader, abruptly forming a small dorsal lobe after lateral hook; strong lateral hook (lhg) directed posteroventrad at about half-length, rather far under dorsal margin; apical margin rounded without defined dorsal nor ventral angles; ventral margin broadly rounded.

Aedeagus ( Fig. 10 View Fig D-E) with endosomal processes (ep) elongate, generally sinuate in dorsal view, with apex curved ventrad and slightly mesad, and with apical margin rounded in lateral view, tapering in a narrowly rounded point in dorsal view; dorsolateral lamina on distal 2/3,

widening from base to middle with irregular weak lateral teeth, then narrowing to apex with lateral angular process, in dorsal view ( Fig. 10 E View Fig ); lamina more or less sinuate in lateral view

( Fig. 10 D View Fig ).
