7. Phyllophaga (Phyllophaga) pruinipennis (Moser, 1918)
Redescription. Male genital capsule ( Figs. 34–35 View FIGURES 34 – 35 ) is long, cylindrical, and slightly curved; short, basally widened parameres are joined by a lateral ridge in dorsal position with a pair of characteristic fins on each side. Membranous aedeagus has a sequence of minute spines on the dorsal apex.
Comments. The species was described by Moser based on males and females from "Columbien", but unfortunately these specimens were found in poor condition at ZMHU, and it has been impossible to reconstruct their diagnostic structures precisely (Morón 2001). According to Moser (1918b), the species is similar to P. nigrofusca (Moser) . Frey (1975) cites a female specimen from Muzo (Boyacá). However, new specimens are needed to confirm its specific validity, given the considerable similarity to P. brevisetosa .
