Figures 7–8 View FIGURE 7 View FIGURE 8
Description. Male. Body small and slender. Fastigium verticis projecting forward, apex obtusely rounded, dorsal surface with a thin furrow along the midline ( Fig. 7A View FIGURE 7 ). Eyes nearly semiglobular, projecting outwards. Apical segments of maxillary palpi longer than subapical ones, apices faintly inflated ( Fig. 7B View FIGURE 7 ).
Anterior margin of pronotum elongate faintly projecting, posterior margin obtusely rounded, protruding backward; lateral lobes longer than deep, narrowing posteriorly, humeral sinus absent ( Fig. 7B View FIGURE 7 ). Tegmina concealed beneath pronotum, apices rounded; hind wings absent ( Fig. 7B View FIGURE 7 ).
Procoxae with 1 spine. All femora unarmed on ventral surfaces. Ventral surface of protibiae with 4 internal and 4–5 external spines, apices with 1 pair of ventral spurs; protibial tympana oval, opened on both sides. Mesotibiae with 3 internal spines, 3–4 external spines and 1 pair of apical spurs on ventral surface. Posttibiae with 27–29 internal spines and 30–34 external spines on dorsal surface, ventral surface with 1–2 internal spines and 4–5 external spines, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs.
Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite arch projecting with faintly concave in middle ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ). Cerci slightly stout, two-thirds of the base stout with narrowly expanded on interno-dorsal margin, which extends to the ventral margin in middle; apical half short and spine-shaped, its apex curved internally, apices subacute ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ). Subgenital plate longer than wide, narrowing posteriorly, basal margin almost straight with triangular membranous area in middle, lateral margins terminating, centre of posterior margin lobate projecting, obviously curved forwards, its apex faintly sclerotized with 1 pair of small spines ( Fig. 7I View FIGURE 7 ). Styli conical, apices obtuse, inserted at the lateral angles of subapical area of subgenital plate on ventral surface ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ).
Female. Appearance is similar to male. Lateral margins of eighth abdominal tergite with inconspicuous tubercule at apex; lateral margins of ninth abdominal tergite widely extending backward, lateral margins rounded ( Fig. 8E View FIGURE 8 ); tenth abdominal tergite narrow with posterior margin almost straight ( Fig. 8C View FIGURE 8 ). Epiproct small and tongue-shaped, posterior margin with a rounded concave in middle ( Fig. 8C View FIGURE 8 ). Cerci very short and conical, apices subacute. Subgenital plate roughly fan-shaped in ventral view, lateral margins of basal area slightly rounded with a transversal concavity on each side, posterior margin obtusely angular ( Fig. 8H View FIGURE 8 ). Ovipositor moderately upcurved behind middle area, dorsal and ventral margins smooth, dorsal valvulae slightly longer than ventral ones, dorsal valvulae with acute apices, apices of ventral valvulae hook-shaped ( Fig. 8G View FIGURE 8 ).
Coloration. Body dark brown. Eyes dark brown. Disc of head with 4 longitudinal brown stripes: the internal stripes broad and fused to the apex of fastigium verticis, the external stripes extending to internal margin of antennal sockets. Pronotum with 1 pair of longitudinal blackish brown stripes, between of them brown. Abdominal tergites dark brown. Female subgenital plate brown.
Material examined. Holotype: male, Jinzhongshan, Longlin , Guangxi, September 14, 2022, coll. by Xiangyi Lu and Qianwen Zhang . Paratypes: 7 males and 9 females, the other information as holotype.
Measurements (mm). BL: ♂ 8.1 – 9.0, ♀ 9.0 – 99.5; PL: ♂ 4.0 – 4.5, ♀ 4.0 – 4.3; TL: ♂ 2.6 – 2.8, ♀ 2.3 – 3.1; HFL: ♂ 8.1 – 8.7, ♀ 8.7 – 9.2; OvL: 4.9–5.4.
Distribution. Guangxi (Longlin).
Discussion. The new species is very similar to Phlugiolopsis (Longiloba) bispinata Bian & Shi, 2018 , but differs from the latter by the internal margin of male cerci narrowly expanded, the spine-shaped apical half stumpy.
Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from the shape of female subgenital plate.
