Description of Phaeobacter arcticus MBM View in CoL 3

Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, nonpigmented, and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, raised, entire and yellow colored after 2 days of incubation on MA at 25° C. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, and urease, arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase activities. Dose not assimilate D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, trisodium citrate, capric acid, phenylacetic acid, and adipic acid in API 20NE. Strain MBM3 View Materials (= NIBRBA0000114145) was isolated from a Sea water sample, Busan, Korea .
