Protologue citation:—“ Himalaya orientali: Jongri ad Bloktan (herb. Calcutt.!), Jaunsar-Bahar: Deoban Range (Duthie n. 1202)”.
Type:— CHINA.Bloktan (Bhutan):near Tangi, July 1887, King’s collector s.n. (lectotype CAL0000018983 !, designated here) ; isolectotypes DD!, PH 00020219 !
Syntypes:— INDIA. Sikkim: Jongri (Dzongri), 13,000 ft., 15 Oct. 1875, C. B. Clarke 26121B (DD!, PH 00020220!).
Notes:—Pertaining to the type specification given in protologue, five syntypes specimens were traced for the name Pedicularis megalantha var. pauciflora Prain ex Maxim. , one at CAL, two at DD and PH. Of these, the best one CAL0000018983, is designated here as the lectotype. Collection of J. F. Duthie from Jaunsar-Bawar, Uttarakhand, India is no more extant.
