18. Pedicularis heydei Prain (1889: 258) View in CoL .

Protologue citation:—“WESTERN HIMALAYA : Lahul, (Watt!); Pangi, (Heyde!)”.

Type:— INDIA. Himachal Pradesh: Chamba district, Pangi , 11,000–16,500 ft., 1879, Heyde s.n. (lectotype lower specimen of CAL0000018966!, designated by Pennell 1943: 126) ; isolectotypes DD!, K000739127!

Syntypes:— INDIA. Himachal Pradesh: Lahaul & Spiti district, Keylong, 12,000 ft., s.d., Watt 3169 (BSIS!, upper specimen of CAL0000018966!, E00273615!).

Notes:— Prain (1889) described Pedicularis heydei based on the specimens collected by Heyde from Pangi, Himachal Pradesh, India and by Watt from Lahaul, Himachal Pradesh, India. Pennell (1943: 126) cited specimen of Heyde from Pangi in CAL herbarium as type and isotype in DD herbarium, but he did not mentioned about the Heyde’s specimen at K and Watt’s specimens at BSIS, CAL and E. However, presently only one specimen of Heyde from Pangi is extant at CAL (CAL0000018966) and as per article 9.10 of ICN ( Turland et al. 2018), the citation of “type” by Pennell was an error to be corrected to lectotype.
