Remarks. Parafomoria cistivora is an abundant species of the Cistus scrub on siliceous soils in the Provence and Languedoc; it feeds on species with glabrous leaves, including Cistus monspeliensis and C. ladanifer . In France it has not yet been found, but it is expected on C. laurifolius , another host. It is univoltine with larvae only in winter (December to March, or later in mountains). The larvae aestivate in the cocoon, with adults flying from August to October. As in most Parafomoria species , adults come to light rarely. Many old records refer to the following species.
