Parabelminus yurupucu Lent & Wygodzinsky, 1979 View in CoL
While studying specimens of Bolboderini in the CTIOC, a female specimen of P. yurupucu that was labeled as holotype (Figs. 33–36), from “Irara, F. Durão (…)”, collected in 1951, was found (Fig. 34). A specimen with the same data was cited as a paratype by Lent & Wygodzinsky (1979). These authors also reported that the holotype of this species was a female, and that this along with other paratypes, were all from “São Felipe, Fazenda Velha (…),” and were collected in 1974 (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979, p. 455). On the other hand, on the same page, just above this information, their figure of the holotype (“Fig. 312”) is very similar to the specimen labeled as the holotype in the CTIOC. In fact, although this latter specimen was found with the head, pronotum, and forelegs separated from the remainder of the thorax and abdomen (Figs. 35–36), a comparison of the position of the legs, especially the fore pair, and the position of the wings in relation to the abdomen, with Lent & Wygodzinsky’s Fig. 312, leads us to a belief that this is probably the specimen photographed as the holotype.
