The description of Walker is based on a male specimen from New Guinea. The holotype which is deposited in the Natural History Museum London was not available for comparison however specimens identified by Kormilev fit to the original description.

Material examined: ♂ pinned:” New Guinea: NE/ Eliptamin Valley / 1200–1300m / July 1–15 1959 ”// ” W.W.Brandt / collector/ Bishop”//” Barcinus / laminifera / (Walker)/ Det.N.Kormilev 66” ( CEHI ex coll. The general shape of body and the posteriorly prolonged lobes of deltg VI and VII resemble P. papuensis . It differs, however, because these lobes are longer and more slender, and that of deltg VII with obliquely truncate apex and that of deltg VI are about twice as long as its basal width (1.2–1.5x in papuensis ) and of nearly entirely yellowish colouration; further by shorter antennae, ratio length of antennae / width of head ♂ 3.06, ♀ 3.12 (3.14–3.45 in papuensis ) and the less posteriorly pygophore.
Measurements: ♂ from Eliptamin: Length 12.5 mm; head length/width 27/16; pronotum 2.37x as wide as long at middle (45/19); scutellum w/l 22/15; length of antennal segments I/II/III/IV = 17/9/15/8; ratio length of antennae /width of head 3.06 (49/16); width of abdomen across tergite III 57, VI 60, VII 35.
Other males: Length 14.1, 13.2 mm; head w/l 30/16, 29/16; pronotum 47/21, 45/21; scutellum 25/16, 24/ 16; antennae I/II/III/IV = 16.5/9/15.5/18, 17/9/16/8; ratio length of antennae /width of head 3.06, 3.12; width of abdomen across tergite III 67, IV 70, VI 69, VII 42, III 63.5, IV 65, VI 64, VII 38.
Distribution: Northern part of New Guinean Island, recorded so far from Morobe Province ( PNG) in the East to Manokwari province in the West (Irian Jaya). Map 2.
