Type locality and data. Brazil (T, ♀, NMW) .

Material examined. Arica y Parinacota: 1♀, Boca Rio Lluta , 4.IV.1974, Leg. H. Vasquéz (UTA) ; Metropolitana: 1♀, Maipú , 14.II.1948, Leg. L. Peña ( CNC) .

World distribution. Suriname, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.

Chilean distribution. Only recorded fom Arica y Parinacota region ( Fig. 65 View FIGURE 65 ).

Altitudinal range. This species inhabits transverse valleys between 100 and 500 m. a.s.l.

Biology and notes. Palpada nigripes is here reported from Chile for the first time. The species inhabits the Lluta valley and surrounding areas probably associated with crops. Other aspects of its biology and ecology remain unknown.

Conservation status. LC; AOO = 8 km 2 and two localities (or subpopulations).The species is widely distributed in all South America.
