231. Oxypoda robusticornis Bernhauer View in CoL
(Illustrations in Klimaszewski et al. 2021), Table 1 View TABLE 1
References. Bernhauer 1907. Lohse et al. 1990 (as Oxypoda madgei Lohse ). Klimaszewski et al. 2006, 2021.
Distribution. Nearctic. Canada: not recorded. USA: AK, NH.
Collection and Habitat data. The type locality of this species is Mt. Washington, without any habitat data provided in the original description. Collected in July. In AK recorded from dwarf Salix , Vaccinium , and leatherleaf litter ( Lohse et al. 1990, Klimaszewski et al. 2021).
Material. USA, New Hampshire, Coos Co.: Mt. Washington, VII (type locality, Bernhauer 1907) .
Comments. This species was not recorded from Canada, but it is most likely transcontinental in the north. An isolated population of this species is known from Mt. Washington in NH ( Bernhauer 1907). Oxypoda robusticornis is similar to O. leechi but differs from it by its broader body, less transverse pronotum, thicker antennae with more transverse apical antennomeres; the median lobe of aedeagus is very similar in the two species ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021).
