≡ Ornithogalum pendens Van Jaarsv. in Van Jaarsveld & Van Wyk (2009: 30). Type:— SOUTH AFRICA. Northern Cape 2917 (Steinkopf): Cliffs overlooking the Skaaprivier, between Steinkopf and Spektakel, (-BC), 19 Sep 2007, Van Jaarsveld, Harrover, Nicolson & Xaba 21108 (holotype NBG, not seen).
Ornithogalum pendens View in CoL was described from northwest of Springbok in Namaqualand. This species shows plain white tepals, broad clasping bracts, and leaves basally clasping the stem, which fit with Eliokarmos sensu Martínez-Azorín et al. (2011) View in CoL . Therefore, a new combination is required to accommodate it in the latter genus.
