( Figure 48 View FIGURES 44 – 50 )
Capsus antennatus Kirby, 1891: 107 View in CoL (as new species); Megacoelum antennatum: Distant 1904a: 428 (new combination, redescription, habitus Fig. 274 p. 427); Kangra ravana : Kirkaldy 1909: 390 (new combination, new replacement name for Capsus antennatus Kirby View in CoL , a junior primary homonym of Capsus antennatus Mulsant & Rey, 1852 View in CoL ); Creontiades antennatus: Poppius 1914: 109 View in CoL (implicit new combination in comparison with C. brunneus ); Creontiades ravana: Carvalho 1959: 76 View in CoL –77 (catalog); Steyskal 1971: 207 (mention); Schuh 1995: 746 (catalog), 2002-2013 (online catalog).
Material examined. Type specimens: lectotype Ƌ of Capsus antennatus Kirby, 1891 (present designation): SRI LANKA (as “ Ceylan ”): Pundaloya, Green leg., type number BMNH E 1653726 (NHM) [the specimen bears additional modern labels with the mention “ syntype ”, several data about sex and identification and three old labels with the following mentions: “ type ”, “ Capsus antenna-tus Kb type ” and, on other side “ Ceylan, Green coll., 90-115”]. Paralectotype Ƌ (present determination): same labels as with lectotype, the old type label lacking, the type number BMNH E 1653727 and not 26 (NHM).
Additional material. 1♀: SRI LANKA (as “ Ceylan ”): Peradenyia, ix.1902 ( MZHF) [damaged by moulds]. 1Ƌ: SRI LANKA (as “ Ceylan ”): Benwia, 18.i.1901, number BMNH E 1653728 (NHM).
Diagnosis. Body reddish-brown. Head brown. Eyes black. First antennal segment brown, its apex almost black. Second antennal segment yellow, with a wide blackish ring medially and another blackish ring apically. Third antennal segment yellow, with a blackish ring medially. Fourth antennal segment lacking. Pronotal disk brown, darker posteriorly, humeral angles dark red. Legs yellow, tibial spines dark, tibia bearing long setae. Scutellum brown laterally, dark red medially. Hemelytra brown, cuneus dark red.
Discussion. The types of O. ravana conform to our diagnosis of Orientomiris on the basis of their external anatomy; hence, we suggest the new combination. The accurate number of specimens originally included in the type-series is not specified by Kirby (1891), although the author explicitly described variability of his new species. We consequently have selected a lectotype in NHM collection. The female specimen from “Peradenyia, Ceylon, ix.1902 ” preserved in MZHF obviously cannot be member of Kirby’s type-series.
