Figures 359–377, 609

TYPE: Holotype Male : Tanzania, Mkomazi Game Reserve, tropical savanna, canopy, -3.88333°, 37.88333°, Mar. 28, 1996, McGavin G.C. ( MRAC PBI _OON 33870);

ETYMOLOGY: The species name is derived from the Latin ’intricatus’ (puzzling) in view of the close relationship with O. acaciae .

DIAGNOSIS: The male of O. intricata most closely resembles that of O. acaciae in having a bulbus with a retrolateral swelling and the embolar region stout and sharply bent prolaterally but mainly differs from that species in having a large tooth at the embolar tip ( Fig. 360).

MALE (PBI_OON_0033870). Total length 0.92. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace yellowish white, elongate oval in dorsal view (CW/CL ≈ 0.68), pars cephalica slightly elevated in lateral view, anteriorly narrowed to between 0.5 and 0.75 times its maximum width. Clypeus sloping forward in lateral view. Eyes ALE-PME touching, PME circular; PLE-PME separated by less than PME radius. Sternum as long as wide, yellowish white, uniform, anterior margin with semicircular depression in the middle half, posterior margin extending posteriorly beyond anterior edges of coxae IV as single extension; setae abundant, evenly scattered. Mouthparts: Chelicerae, endites and labium yellow. Chelicerae ( Figs. 364, 365) straight, fang with small, proximal triangular projection on anterior face; inner margin of posterior face provided with row of small denticles ( Fig. 365), distal one twice as large as remainder; retromargin with three or more teeth; setae sparse; paturon laminate groove absent. Labium anterior margin anteriorly projecting at middle, same as sternum in sclerotization, narrowed at base, lateral margins smoothly curved, distal part depressed in the centre; with 3–5 setae on anterior margin, anteriorly with five setae, posteriorly with one seta. Endites ( Figs. 363, 366, 367) serrula present in single row, anterior part divided into two pieces by pronounced groove; lateral part bearing sclerotised, hook shaped projection pointing laterally; mesal part provided with flattened, pectinate setae; posterior part provided with shallow diagonal furrow. ABDOMEN: ovoid; dorsum soft portions pale white, with dark posterior end. Book lung covers small. Pedicel scutum absent, but abdomen extending anteriad of pedicel. LEGS: yellow; LEGS: patella plus tibia I shorter than carapace (TL/CL ≈ 0.75). Tarsi bearing claws with proximal tooth divided itself in smaller teeth. Leg spines absent. Tarsus I superior claws ( Fig. 368) with seven teeth on lateral surface of proclaw, six teeth on median surface of proclaw, seven teeth on lateral surface of retroclaw, six teeth on median surface of retroclaw. Tarsal organ ( Figs. 369, 370) pear shaped. GEN- ITALIA: Palp ( Figs. 359–362, 371–374) proximal segments yellow; femur short, slightly enlarged; patella without prolateral row of ridges, attached to tibia basally; tibia one to two times as wide as femur, twice as long as femur; cymbium yellow, with distal patch of setae; bulb yellow, stout, tapering apically, with retrolateral face strongly protruding; embolus dark, complex ( Figs. 375–377), with distal translucent spatulate prong; ventrally with well developed triangular tooth at edge of distal, slightly concave platform.

FEMALE unknown.
