Type (lectotype, designated here):― Cambodia. Ad montem Schval Cambodiarum, secus rivulos, April 1870, L. Pierre 7046 ( P, barcode P00509881 !; iso-: P, barcode P00753539 *!) .

Other original material examined:―[Illustration]: A sheet of drawings (habit, inflorescence, flowers, flower diagram) made by E. Delpy in October 1905 of the plant (Pierre 7046) under the name of Ophiopogon marmoratus Pierre , attached to the lectotype. Some of them are reproduced in Rodriguez (1934b: 658, fig. 64-1–7). [Manuscript with illustration]: an unpublished manuscript by Pierre titled “ Ophiopogon marmoratus Pierre ” with a drawing of an ovule, attached to the lectotype.

Note:―Both the lectotype and isolectotype designated here are labeled “ Ophiopogon? marmoratus Pierre ” by Pierre. Rodriguez (1934b) cited “ Laos: Pak-lay (Thorel)” under O. marmoratus without making reference to the collection number. This material is probably “ Thorel 3356 p.p.” that is represented by three specimens: P 00509924!, P 00753579*!, P 00753580*! (for their identity see also the note under O. peliosanthifolius below).
