The holotype is deposited in NMPC (ex coll. V. Balthasar):
HOLOTYPE (J): ‘ Bignona / Sénégal / - 7. 1931 [hw] // TYPUS [p, red label] // antilocapra / m. [hw, pink label]’.
Current status. Valid species; not assigned to any subgenus.
Remark. TAGLIAFERRI et al. (2012) indicated its possible placement in the subgenus Bicornonthophagus Tagliaferri & Moretto, 2012 .
