Odontomutilla assamensis Hammer, 1962: 2 , ♀, type locality: Garo Hills [ India: Meghalaya], holotype in NZC; Lelej 2005: 114, ♀ .
Diagnosis. FEMALE. T 2 in basal half with one spot of pale setae. Head black. T1 medially without spot of pale setae. Legs black. T3 with interrupted band of pale setae. T6 with pygidium defined by lateral carina. MALE. Unknown.
Material examined. Holotype of Odontomutilla assamensis , ♀, India: Meghalaya, with the labels (from top to bottom): Zool.[ogical] Surv.[ey] [of] Ind.[ia], Above Tura, Garo Hills, Assam [currently in Meghalaya], 3500–3900 ft., Sept. [19]17, Mrs. Kemp // Odontomutilla assamensis ♀ Type det. Hammer // Odontomutilla sikkimensis (André) B. Petersen det. 1980 // 1953 H3 // type; ZSI 1953/H3 [ NZC].
Distribution. India: Meghalaya ( Fig. 36 View FIGURE 36 ).
Remark. In spite of the identification of B. Petersen (not published) we consider that this species differs from O. sikkimensis André (see key below) by having a definite pygidial area.
