71. Notylia tamaulipensis Reichenbach (1860: 281) View in CoL .
Type:— MEXICO. [sic] Tamaulipas, [recte] Veracruz: Tantoyuca, ex hort., s.d., Krichelsdorff sub Kreuss s.n. (W-R not found). Neotype (designated here):— MEXICO. s. loc., ex hort., 1862, Krichelsdorff s.n (W-R 25059!).
Notes: — Reichenbach (1860) described N. tamaulipensis based on a plant grown in the garden of Krichelsdorff without citing the holotype or herbarium where the deposit occurred. After checking the author’s herbarium at the W herbarium, it is believed that the original material has been lost or was not preserved. A specimen of N. tamaulipensis collected by Krichelsdorff in Mexico in 1862 with characteristics similar to those described in the protologue was found. It the sample W-R 25059 collected by Krichelsdorff in the type locality is designated as a neotype.
