39. Notylia lehmanniana Kränzlin (1921: 388) View in CoL .
Type:— COLOMBIA. Tolima: Guachico River, s.d., F. C. Lehmann 2292 ( B destroyed). Neotype (designated here):— COLOMBIA. La Paila Cauca, 14 October 1853, I. F. Holton s.n. ( NY 04109307 !).
Notes: — Kränzlin (1921) described the species based on the Lehmann 2292 sample, without informing the herbarium where if had been deposited; however, it is known that the material was destroyed at B during World War II (Bernal et al. 2015; Bynum & Bynum 2017). The species is known only from the type sample and has not been recorded since. Thus, in the absence of a specimen or illustration, a neotype is required. We designate as a neotype the sample deposited at NY that has the characteristics described in the protologue and which was collected near the type locality. The sample designated here also represents the rediscovery of the species after more than 100 years.
