12. Notylia bipartita Reichenbach (1854: 47) . Notylia modesta Reichenbach , in sched. Neotype (designated here):— s. loc., ex hort., 15 April 1844, J.F. Klotzsch s.n. (W-R 25057!).
Notes: — Reichenbach (1854) described N. bipartita based on a specimen under cultivation, and apparently not preserved, without indicating the material type in the protologue or where it was deposited. Examining sample W-R 25057, two labels of specimens collected by Klotzsch in 1842 and 1844 and related to N. bipartita were found, in addition to the original illustration based on the type specimen previously deposited in the B herbarium, but destroyed in World War II (Butzin 1978, 1980); however, it is not the original material. Therefore, the specimen located to the right of the exsiccate is designated here as a neotype, because it is the most preserved and best corresponds to the illustration of the holotype.
