Note. The type material of Nilus marginatus ( Simon 1888) described from the Andaman Islands ( Simon 1888: 284; sub Sphedanus m.) was not available for this study. It is definitely not in the MNHN (Rollard, in litt.). Simon (1898a: 289) transferred the species to the genus Nilus without comments. From the original description I cannot recognise an affiliation to any genus. Therefore, I leave this name also as nomen dubium, until the type material is located and can be examined.
