CMNH-ZC 1894 , 1 male (holotype of Periclimenes dardanicola ), CL 2.2 mm, 35°01.2'N, 138°49.9'E, Kuryo, Numazu, Suruga Bay , Honshu , depth 21 m, 28 December 2000 GoogleMaps , coll. R. Minemizu ; CMNH-ZC 1895 , 1 female (paratype of Periclimenes dardanicola ), CL 3.6 mm, 35°01.2'N, 138°48.8'E, off Enashi, Nishiura, Numazu , Suruga Bay , Honshu , depth 12 m, 13 April 2005, coll. H. Watanabe GoogleMaps ; CMNH-ZC 2856 , 1 female, CL 4.3 mm, 26°13.038'N, 127°53.567'E, off Umino Fishing Port, Nakagusuku Bay, Okinawa Island , Ryukyu Islands , gill net, 7 June 2018 GoogleMaps , coll. Distribution. Type locality: Numazu, Suruga Bay, Honshu, Japan (see above). Additionally known from Vietnam and Indonesia ( Bruce & Okuno 2006).

Common name. Gouzanze-kakure-ebi (standard Japanese name).

Remarks. Ngankeecaris dardanicola comb. nov. represents the unique dwelling in association with sea anemones attached on gastropod shells occupied by hermit crabs of the genus Dardanus Paul'son, 1875 ( Bruce & Okuno 2006). The specimen from Okinawa ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ) was picked up on board the Teruyuki-maru, a commercial gillnet fishing vessel. Therefore, the host animals of the present specimen could not be determined.

Ngankeecaris dardanicola comb. nov. is readily distinguished from it congener, N. acanthimera comb. nov., by the following key.
