Brief description: —Shrubs ca. 1.5 m tall. Leaf petiole 4–15 mm long, blade 10–20 × 2.5–3.8 cm, margin entire, venation camptodromous, abaxial surface sparsely glandular-punctate; capitula discoid, involucre 8–9 × 8–9 mm, cylindrical, phyllaries glabrous; receptacle holopaleaceous, paleae ca. 6 mm long; disc florets 20–30 per capitulum, corolla ca. 6 mm long, pale yellow to yellow; cypselae 2–2.5 mm long, densely glandular-punctate, pappus bristles 35–40.
We propose that this species belongs to Neurolaena ser. Neurolaena .
Geographic distribution: —Endemic to Mexico, Chiapas state (GH 00010689!) ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
