Description of Mycobacterium chubuense WS View in CoL 50

Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are entire, convex, opaque and yellow colored after 3 days on R2A at 25°C. Positive for nitrate production in API 20NE, but negative for glucose fermentation, urease, esculin hydrolysis β -galactosidase, indole production, arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase. DGlucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate, capric acid, adipic acid and phenylacetic acid are not utilized. Strain WS50 (= NIBRBA 0000114431) has been isolated from freshwater, Woopo wetland, Gyeongnam Province, Korea.
