Monomorphina ulula (A. Pochmann) J. Juráň comb. nov.
Basionym: Phacus ulula A. Pochmann [Arch. Protistenk. 95: 225, fig. 142, 1942]
This taxon represents an example of the taxa with unclear taxonomical position but well characterized morphology. It was described by Pochmann (1942) from the material from pond near Doksy (North Bohemia region) and no more data are available about its distribution in the Czech Republic. The same taxon was reported in South Korea by Conforti & Ruiz (2002) and this record was documented with photos obtained by scanning electron microscope. The taxon described by Pochmann (1942) has typical spirally oriented keels typical for the genus Monomorphina View in CoL .
Independence of this morphologically well-defined genus was confirmed by several works based on molecular and morphological data ( Marin et al. 2003, Kosmala et al. 2007b, Kim et al. 2013b).
