Remarks. Mimela parva was previously recorded from Fujian, Hunan and Jiangxi Provinces (Lin 2002). By the records provided here, the known distribution range is greatly expanded. The coloration of this species is normally metallic green with reddish tinge. Two peculiar female specimens from Anhui Province are metallic greenish blue, with color on all marginal portions darkened. Dichroism also appears in its closest relative, Mimela ignicauda Bates, 1866 , of which exhibits as entire body metallic green or body metallic violet in combination with yellowish femurs and tibiae ( Yu et al. 1998).
There is a female labelled “ Yunnan, Honghe, Mt. Daweishan 2013.V.10 Chao Li leg.” in LCPC. But examination of male from the same locality is required to confirm this distribution since there is a huge gap between Daweishan and the westernmost point, Mao’ershan.
Distribution. China: Anhui *, Fujian, Guangdong *, Guangxi *, Hubei *, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang *, Yunnan (?).
