Description of Mesorhizobium silamurunense SR 1-05

Cells are Gram-staining-negative, flagellated, nonpigmented, and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, entire, convex, and pale yellow colored after 3 days on R2 A agar at 30° C. Positive for nitrate production, esculin hydrolysis, and urease activity in API 20NE, but negative for glucose fermentation, indole production, and arginine dihydrolase, β -galactosidase, and gelatinase activities. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, malic acid are utilized. Does not utilize potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain SR 1- 05 (= NIBRBA0000114194) was isolated from false acasia root, Daejeon, Korea .
