The illustrated syntypes are stored in the Croatian Natural History Museum, Zagreb, coll. no. 2530-176/1-2 (Milan et al. 1974: 86).
Remarks.
Junior homonym of Melanopsis serbica Brusina, 1893. Neubauer et al. (2014c: 16) introduced Melanopsis haueri ripanjensis as replacement name, following Wenz (1929: 2741, 2743) who synonymized Melanopsis austriaca Handmann, 1882 with Melanopsis haueri Handmann, 1882 and listed serbica as a subspecies of Melanopsis haueri .
