status

Mastigocladopsis sp. ( Fig. 14O–S View FIGURE 14 ).

Filaments prostrate. Sheath firm, thin, non-lamellated, hyaline to brown. Trichome uniseriate, branching T-shaped, constricted. Apical cell rounded-conical. Cells isodiametric in main filament and cylindrical in branches, 3.09–7.86 µm wide, 2.72–11 µm long, ratio l/w = 1.23. Cell content granulated, grayish-green. Heterocyst cylindrical, 3.09–7.86 µm wide, 2.72–11.77 µm long, in intercalary position. Akinetes pedicellate, spherical, 5.55–8.48 µm wide, sheath firm, thin, brown.

Habitat: —Tree bark.

Notes: —Corticolous habitat, akinetes pedicellate and absence heterocyst pedicellate or lateral are diacritical features differs this morphotype other Mastigocladopsis species.

Hassallia byssoidea Hassall ex Bornet et Flahault (1886: 116) ( Fig. 15A–C View FIGURE 15 ).

Filaments entangled to solitary, epiphytic on other cyanobacteria, 8.16–10.78 µm wide. Sheath firm, 0.63–1.23 µm wide, non-lamellated, hyaline to brown. Trichomes attenuated, branches tolypothricoid, not constricted. Apical cell rounded. Cells short, 6.64–9.7 µm wide, 1.85–4.45 µm long, ratio l/w = 0.40. Cell content granulated, blue-green. Basal heterocyte elliptical, 7.23–9.64 µm wide, 4.91–7.42 µm long. Necridia present.

Habitat: —Bricks; associated with Gloeocapsopsis sp .. Concrete; associated with Gloeocapsopsis pleurocapsoides and Chlorogloea sp.1 . Tree bark inside the forest; associated with Gloeocapsa sp.1 , Chlorogloea sp.1 , Gloeocapsa compacta and Gloeocapsa stegophila .
