Holotype: ZMB 27396 skin [missing] / ZMB 27397 skull, male, subadult; Bipindi on the Lokoundje River , Cameroon; collected by Zenker between 1897 and 1912.
Paratypes: ZMB 27800/27801, male, subadult, skin, skeleton; ZMB 27802/27803, male, subadult, skull, skin; ZMB 27844/27846, male, juvenile, skull, skin; ZMB 27847, female, juvenile, skin [missing]; ZMB 18523, male, adult, skull; ZMB 27832/27833, male, adult, skin, skull damaged; Bipindi on the Lokoundje-River, Cameroon; collected by Zenker, between 1897 and 1912 .
