Malvana serrulata Stål, 1865 View in CoL
( Figs. 22–25 View FIGURES 19–25 , 53–54 View FIGURES 50–56 )
= Belonomus annulaticornis Uhler, 1869 View in CoL , new synonymy
Remarks. After careful examination of the types of each species as well as many non-type specimens, Malvana serrulata and Belonomus annulaticornis are considered conspecific. Their known distributions have been combined herein and the ventral and posterior pyogphore are illustrated ( Figs. 24–25 View FIGURES 19–25 ). As B. annulaticornis is the only species of the genus, this likewise places Belonomus in junior synonymy of Malvana .
Distribution. Known from Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Peru ( Packauskas 2010). Mattei & Mattei (2017) reported this species from Amazonas, Venezuela, which was formally published in Cazorla (2021). French Guyana, Paraguay and Suriname are new country records.
