[ Macronichia agrestis ] Rondani, 1859b: 230.
REMARKS: misidentification. Rondani (1859b: 230) incorrectly identified a specimen of Xysta striginervis Zetterstedt, 1838 as Tachina agrestis Fallén, 1810 and then, in his key for the new genus Macronychia Rondani, 1859 , indicated Tachina agrestis sensu Rondani as the type species ( Povolný & Verves 1997: 53, O’Hara et al. 2011: 111). Rondani treated this nominal species under the generic name Macronichia , which is an “incorrect original spelling of Macronychia Rondani ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 110).
