Type material. Holotype ♂, ‘ Malay Peninsula, Fraser’s Hill, 1°37’N 101°45’E, 4000’ ft, 12.XII.(19)75, D.H. Murphy leg.‘, ‘ Holotype’, ‘ Lyroneces orcinus sp. nov., S. Kazantsev des. 1998’ ( ICM).

Additional material. 5♂♂, W Malaysia: Pahang, Fraser’s Hill , 1000–1200 m, 28–31.I.1999, S. Kazantsev leg. ( ICM) .

Remarks. Lyropaeus (Lyroneces) orcinus is closely related to L. (Lyroneces) optabilis Kleine, 1926 , but separable from the latter by the coloration and less acute apices of the parameres ( Figs 9–10 ).
