Status at New Ireland. First recorded from Lihir Group, Namatamai District, New Ireland by Fry et al. (2006: 129).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 5.—General distribution: Arabian Sea to east Vanuatu, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia. Found above rock bottom, 90–340 m depth. Marine.
