1907., E. Werner 45 (syntype B +) ; auf Bäumen in der Wälder des Finisterre-gebirges, ca. 1,250 m, Januar 1909., R. Schlechter 19007
(syntype B+).
PAPUA NEW GUINEA. Eastern Highlands, Mt. Wilhelm, Keglsugl-Pindaunde trail, moss forest, terrestrial, ca. 10000‘, 27 May 1966, D. N. McVean & L. K. Wade ANU.7220 (neotype G! designated here, isoneotypes BO 0069095!, CANB, L).
Heterotypic synonym:— Liparis aaronii Cribb & Lewis (1989: 251) ; Cestichis aaronii (Cribb & Lewis.) Clem. &Jones in Jones & Clements (2005: 38).
Type:— VANUATU. Espiritu Santo, Saktouy to Tabwemasana, near summit above Saktouy, in mountain forest, on trunks in shade, on steep slope, 1400 m, 24 October 1988, P. Cribb & J. Wheatley 105 (holotype K!).
Note:— I did not find out any part of the original type-collection of Liparis werneri but “McVean & Wade ANU. 7220” collection have a very high quality, complete (with well developed both leaves and flowers) specimens of the species whose deserver for neotypification. L. werneri and L. aaronii are well represented at preserved collections. I compared detaily morphology of both species and without any doubt aaronii is synonym of werneri . Royen (1979) correctly placed L. werneri in section Pleiophyllum Schltr.
