Recognition. Linogeraeus finitimus is one of three similar species with homogenous dorsal vestiture. Typical specimens can be recognized by the bulky shape of the pronotum, the laterally compressed rostrum ( Figs. 64, 65 ), and the moderately long prosternal spines in the male. Male L. tonsilis lack prosternal spines and the species generally has a more southern distribution. Linogeraeus neglectus differs from these two species by protruding, dorsally visible ventral margins of the scrobes. The size range of L. finitimus is 2.9–4.3 mm.

Distribution. This species has been found primarily in the central and southeastern parts of the United States ( Fig. 77 ).

Type locality. Dallas , Texas .

Temporal occurrence. May to August.

Plant associations. Unknown.
