Leptispa filiformis (Germar, 1842) View in CoL
Material examined: LISBOA: Sintra: Algueirão (29 SMC 79), 20-05-1961, 1 specimen, L. Ambar leg., Grosso-Silva collection, formerly in the collection of Tristão Branco .
Comments: Previously recorded only once from Portugal, from Paiã (Loures), where it was collected twice, in August 1940 and in June 1946 ( CARVALHO, 1950). The occurrence of the species in Portugal is not reflected in the works by WARCHAŁOWSKI (2003) And BOROWIEC & SEKERKA (2010). As a result, the new record presented here, albeit over 50 years old, can be regarded as a confirmation of the presence of Leptispa filiformis in the central-western part of continental Portugal and will hopefully stimulate the search for this very rare species. In Spain, according to VELA LÓPEZ & BASTAZO PARRAS (2008), this species is only known from the southern provinces of Cádiz And MálAgA, being included by these Authors in the “DAtA deficient” cAtegory in the Andalusian Invertebrate Red Data Book.
