15. Lemula (s. str.) coerulea Gressitt, 1939 View in CoL
(Figs. VIII-15, XI-15, XV-13)
Lemula coerulea Gressitt, 1939: 84 View in CoL , pl. 2, figs. 6. Type locality: T'ien-mu Shan, Chekiang Prov., E. China.— Gressitt, 1951: 67.— Hayashi, 1994: 59, pl. 5, fig. 1.— Hua, 2002: 212.— Hua et al., 2009: 10, 137, 273, Pl. 10, fig. 118.
Diagnosis. Male: BL = 6.5–8.0 mm. Body shiny above; head greenish green to blue; antennae pitchy brown to black except for bronzy green scape; prothorax steely blue to greenish blue; elytra dark steely blue and rarely greenish blue; metasternum dark bluish green; abdominal ventrites yellowish testaceous though sometimes I and II ventrites darkened; legs bronzy green; tarsi blackish. Head and pronotum sparsely provided with intermixed different length of pale hairs which are randomly directed; antennae clothed with fine silky golden pubescence; elytra moderately furnished with blackish brown slanted hairs which are ca. 1.5 times as long as space between punctures; meso- and metasterna clothed with oblique pale golden hairs.
Head across eyes wider than pronotum across lateral tubercles; vertex to occiput finely and moderately punctured; antennae reaching apical third of elytra.
Pronotum shorter than width across lateral tubercles (PL/PW = 0.92); disk well convex with slight longitudinal median depression, sparsely punctured except for apical constriction and along median line. Scutellum narrowly trapezoidal and finely punctured.
Elytra distinctly shorter than twice humeral width (EL/EW = 1.81), nearly parallel sided with slight constriction behind humeri, moderately shallowly punctured; disk depressed medially on small area both sides of suture behind scutellum.
Endophallus (Type C). Almost identical with L. formosana subspecies. Dorsal view: CT gradually inflated to PB without constriction, dm elongate tongue shaped and associated with distal Y-shaped colored area which is indistinct when PB is fully inflated; APH narrowed apically with slight constriction at basal third. Lateral view: CT moderately inflated ventrally; border of PC and PB not narrowed and strongly curved dorsally; PC roundly inflated ventrally; APH rice-bag shaped.
Female: BL = 6.8–8.5 mm. Similar to male, but pronotum barely shorter than width across lateral tubercles (PL/PW=0.96); EL/EW = 1.83; abdominal ventrite entirely yellow, antennae slightly exceeding middle of elytra.
