Lectotype (designated here):— CHILE. Cabo Negro , Magallanes, November 1852, Lechler 1079 ( SGO000003727 !; isolectotypes P03254829!, P03254830!, P03254831!).
Protologue:—“Ad Cabo negro in freto Magellanico haud procul a colonia Chilensi legit orn. Lechler”.

Notes:— We found two specimens collected by Lechler at the locality indicated in the protologue and housed at SGO, herbarium where Philippi worked ( SGO000003727 ; SGO000003728 ). The latter does not show labels with Lechler´s collection number nor date of collection and because of this cannot be unambiguously considered duplicates. We designate SGO000003727 as the lectotype ; the specimen is well preserved and is a complete specimen with roots, basal leaves and fruiting umbels. We also found three duplicates of the designated lectotype house at P.
