Laplothrips bicolor Bhatti View in CoL
( Figs 31 View FIGURES 31–39 , 43 View FIGURES 40–50 )
Bhatti (1972) erected a monobasic genus Laplothrips with L. bicolor from India as type species, but currently the genus also includes concaviceps from Indonesia. These two fern-associated species are known only from females. Laplothrips is closely related to Trichromothrips , but the pronotum ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 31–39 ) has only one pair of long
posteroangular setae, and the fore wing costal setae are more than 1.5 times as long as the wing width at the middle ( Fig. 43 View FIGURES 40–50 ). L. bicolor is recorded here for the first time from China.
Specimen examined. China, Yunnan, Wuding County, Lion Mountain , 1 female collected from fern, 8.xii.2017 (Yajin Li) .
