Lamproderma violaceum var. debile G. Lister & H.J. Howard View in CoL , in G. Lister, J. Bot. 57: 25. 1919
≡ Lamproderma atrosporum var. debile (G. Lister & H.J. Howard) G. Lister , in Lister, Monogr. mycetozoa, ed. 3, 160. 1925
≡ Lamproderma debile (G. Lister & H.J. Howard) Ing, Trans. Brit. Mycol. Soc. View in CoL 78(3): 444. 1982
— Lectotypus (designated by Ing, Trans. Brit. Mycol. Soc. 78: 444. 1982 as “ holotype ” but in our opinion it would be a lectotype since the slides are from another date, so there must be other material. See notes): UNITED KINGDOM. England, Norfolk, Norwich, Whitlingham Woods , 52.6222ºN 1.3247ºE, 11 May 1918, H.J. Howard ( BM 4034 !, BM001089217 ) GoogleMaps . Syntypus: UNITED KINGDOM. England, Norfolk, Norwich, Whitlingham Woods , 52.6222ºN 1.3247ºE, 3 Apr 1918, H J. Howard (four slides BM s.n.!, 1–4, BM001095165 , BM001095166 , BM001095167 , BM001095168 ) GoogleMaps .

NOTES: G. Lister (1919: 25) wrote “ Obtained last spring [1918] by Mr. H. J. Howard in the Whitlingham Woods, near Norwich.”. In BM there is a box ( BM 4034 ), that Ing (1982: 444) called the “ holotype ” and that contains well preserved material. We consider it to be a lectotype, and not a holotype, as there appear to be more than one collection . BM 4034 has the date 11 May 1918, and under this date in the notebook XXXIX: 21B is noted “further gathering found, keeping the same characteristics”. There are also 4 slides in BM dated “ 3.4.1918 ”, from another collection mentioned in the publication of the variety, and illustrated with notes in the notebook XXXIX: 22–23. The illustrations in the original publication (Plate 552, fig. 1) appear to be a combination of those in the notebook XXXIX: 19–24 .
