L:B.M.95 one dry mount engraved 388/ Lamproderma / physaroides Rost. / β. sessile/ Christiania, Norway, leg. A. Blytt./ BM001223750 + one slide engraved 393, BM001223751. L:B.M.95 one slide engraved 391/ Lamproderma / physaroides Rost. / β. sessile/ Flitwick, Beds/ leg. J. Saunders, July 1893 / BM001223752.
NOTES: Lister (1894: 126) indicated the type locality was “ Leighton , Beds (L:B.M.95), … Pyrenees (K. 1318) … Norway (L:B.M.95)” .
In BM there are 3 slides with the same number L:B.M.95. Two of these are from Christiania, Norway, one being a dry mount with a small fragment of substrate with sporocarps, and the other a prepared microscope slide. The third is a prepared microscope slide from Flitwick, Beds. There is an illustration in notebook XVII: 76 with a reference to Cran material, 1898, that is later than the publication date so not original material. The doubt remains as to whether L. columbinum var. sessile G.Lister is based on the same material as the comments in the first and second edition of the Lister monograph would suggest. The form f. sessile , is currently included in the concept of Elaeomyxa cerifera (G. Lister) Hagelst.
