Material examined. Korea, East Sea , station E4 (37°55 ʹ 4.816 ʺ N, 128°51 ʹ 11.786 ʺ E), 20 May 2016, by Van Veen Grab, collected by Raehyuk Jeong and Jisu Yeom. NIBR ID: NIBRPR0000107241 .

Diagnosis. Test small, unilocular, elongate, slender, elliptical with broad, round basal end. Wall calcareous, hyaline, nearly translucent to opaque, and surface covered with numerous, fine, granular ornamentations. Aperture terminal located at the end of neck.

Remarks. This species was originally classified as a variety of L. laevis by Cushman (1923), but later separated into one independent species. The very fine and frosty ornamentations cover the test surface and are very unusual. This ornamentation seems quite similar to that of L. hispidula , but L. nebulosa has a much narrower, cylindrical test than L. hispidula .

Distribution. Korea, China, Japan, New Zealand, Gulf of Mexico, North Atlantic Ocean, Bay of Biscay, Sea of Marmara, Arctic Ocean.
