Description (Holotype). Male (n=1). Body length 15.4 mm ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ), wings 9.1.
Head. Flagellum almost filiform, with 42 flagellomeres; 1st flagellomere 2.1× longer than wide ( Fig. 4C View FIGURE 4 ). Head covered with long setae. Temple parallel behind eyes and strongly narrowed posteriorly. OED 1.5× and OOD 1.7× ocellar diameter. Frons coarsely punctate. Face densely punctate. Clypeus with rather dense punctures and with apical margin straight ( Fig. 4B View FIGURE 4 ). Gena wide, 1.3× as wide as eye, densely punctate. Mandible with one tooth. MI 0.7; malar space 0.6× as long as 1st flagellomere ( Fig. 4B View FIGURE 4 ). Genal carina reaching hypostomal carina far from mandibular base.
Mesosoma. Mesoscutum densely punctate. Mesopleuron sparsely punctate and shiny. juxtacoxal carina present ( Fig. 4D View FIGURE 4 ). Scutellum slightly elevated, 1.3× wider than long, with fine scattered punctures, without lateral carina ( Fig. 4E View FIGURE 4 ). Propodeum rugose ( Fig. 4F View FIGURE 4 ). Area superomedia almost hexagonal, 1.1× wider than long; anterior transversal carina posterior transversal carina present. Hind coxa densely punctate, with dense setae with defined scopa. Hind femur stout, 4.6× longer than wide, with dense punctures and setae ( Fig. 4G View FIGURE 4 ). Tarsi slightly widened, 3rd mid tarsomere 3.2× longer than wide.
Metasoma. Stout, with dense small punctures and setae ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ). Petiole noticeably enlarged apically; lateral field striate, 0.7× as wide as median field; median field finely and regularly striate. 2nd tergite 1.2× as long as wide. Gastrocoelus quite rugose. Thyridium transverse, 0.9× as wide as the interval ( Fig. 4G View FIGURE 4 ).
Colouration. Body yellowish and brownish black and covered with brownish hairs ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ). Antenna mostly black, scape ventrally yellowish dorsally black, pedicel brownish, flagellomeres entirely black ( Fig. 4C View FIGURE 4 ). Mandible basally black, apically yellowish, labrum yellow, clypeus yellow but with apically black spot ( Fig. 4B View FIGURE 4 ). In frontal view, paraocular area yellow, supra antennal area and supraclypeal area black. Apical side of collar and hind edge of pronotum, tegula and scutellum yellowish ( Fig. 4D, E View FIGURE 4 ). Legs, all coxae and trochanters black except fore trochanter with yellow spot. Fore and mid legs brownish (except coxa and trochanter). Hind femur brownish, tibia apically blackish, basally brownish ( Fig. 4G View FIGURE 4 ). Hind tarsomeres entirely blackish. Wings slightly brownish infuscate; pterostigma brownish ( Fig. 4H View FIGURE 4 ). Terga black, sterna brownish black ( Fig. 4G View FIGURE 4 ).
Female. Unknown.
Etymology. The name is derived from the area of origin of the holotype. Lice is a district of Diyarbakir province in southeastern Türkiye.
Host. Unknown.
Remarks. The colour pattern of this new species resembles Ichneumon cessator Müller, 1776 from France but the new species can be differentiated by its bigger size, almost filiform flagellum, densely punctate ventral mesopleuron, mesosternum, mid and hind coxae, and a small scopa on hind coxa ( I. cessator can be differentiated with smaller size, not filiform flagellum, sparsely punctate ventral mesopleuron, mesosternum, mid and hind coxae, and a longer scopa on hind coxa). Also in this species, yellow spotted frons and clypeus (frons and clypeus entirely black in I. cessator ); scape ventrally yellow, basally black, flagellomeres black (scape black, flagellomeres brownish black in I. cessator ); scutellum yellow (scutellum black in I. cessator ); apical side of collar and hind edge of pronotum, tegula and scutellum yellowish (apical side of collar and hind edge of pronotum, tegula and scutellum black in I. cessator ).
