Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and round to oval shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and cream after incubation for 5 days on MA at 25°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for cytochrome oxidase, esculin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, urease, glucose fermentation, gelatin hydrolysis, indole production, and arginine dihydrolase. Glucose and adipic acid are utilized as sole carbon sources; while arabinose, mannose, mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, malic acid, potassium gluconate, capric acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain HMG3436 (= NIBRBAC000509556) was isolated from a seawater sample at Gangneung, Gangwon-do, Republic of Korea.
