Hoplopleura oryzomydis Pratt & Lane
Charleston Co., Wedge Plantation, 22 September 1994, ex Oryzomys palustris (Harlan) , coll. K.L. Clark.
In South Carolina, H. oryzomydis is a specific ectoparasite of the marsh rice rat, O. palustris. Hoplopleura oryzomydis also infests other Oryzomys spp. in the Neotropics. Kim et al. (1986) reported collections of H. oryzomydis from Bull Island and Charleston.
